OUR MISSION IS TO FACILITATE INNOVATIONS IN HEALTHCARE
Who We Are |
We are the Bruin Medical Entrepreneurs! We are a student-run organization at UCLA, and we strive to bridge the gap between business and medicine, as this is a very niche field that is not frequently touched upon in classes. To promote entrepreneurship among UCLA undergraduates potentially interested in healthcare, our organization seeks to provide education, mentorship, and networking opportunities regarding medical ventures and related topics necessary for success. We host career workshops and lectures on significant topics, as well as host speaker events in which individuals from a start-up in the LA area come in and give an informative presentation on their company, their product, and their entrepreneurial journey. Sometimes, they offer internship opportunities to students interested in getting involved in the entrepreneurial space. Joining our organization is a fantastic way to build connections, learn more about the healthcare industry, and improve personal skills that will help you throughout your life!
Technological advances have recently driven many changes in the medical field, as seen through the increasing prevalence of electronic health records, digital healthcare applications, mobile diagnostic technology, cutting-edge regenerative medicine technologies, and many more of the like. In a world full of rules and regulations, entrepreneurs need to be familiar with a set of "principles" relating to founder experience, funding, identification of needs, patent laws, and many more before even thinking about starting a business. In order to be successful in the healthcare space, it is necessary to have full awareness of emerging technologies and trends, as well as build upon business skills such as piecing together a strong resume and knowing how to pitch your product. The Bruin Medical Entrepreneurs can help you through your journey! |
Our History |
Founded in 2014 by a group of four Life-Science students, the Bruin Medical Entrepreneurs started off as a small, tight-knit organization. Over the past few years, the organization has expanded and become larger, while still retaining the qualities of a tight-knit community, consisting of members from a wide variety of backgrounds and interests. We are open to all majors!
